Decontamination PASS BOX for Continuous Dust Removal and UV-C Disinfection
PASS BOX TUNNEL: Automated transfer system with air shower and UV-C disinfection for the continuous flow of materials.
MODEL: PASS BOX TUNNEL: PBOX AIR BLOWING – UV-C RADIATION
The PBOX Tunnel is specifically designed for applications requiring the safe and continuous transfer of materials between Unclassified Areas (such as a warehouse) and Grade D Zones (equivalent to ISO Class 8 under the ISO 14644-1 standard) for laboratory and cleanroom biosafety.
Its fully automated operation via PLC and a 12” touchscreen combines high-velocity air shower dust removal with UV-C radiation disinfection. This guarantees a constant, safe, and uninterrupted flow in the production line, featuring RGB LED status lighting to indicate the cycle stage.
Description
Manufactured in AISI 304 stainless steel, this equipment features an intelligent architecture divided into three sequential modules that ensure an impassable biological barrier.
-
-
Dedusting process: Two blowing blocks, strategically located at the inlet and outlet, dislodge particles from surfaces using high-velocity POM nozzles
. -
Air filtration: The airflow is continuously drawn and purified through F9 pre-filters and H14 HEPA absolute filters, retaining dust before returning to the chamber.
. -
Central disinfection cycle: Within the shielded central module, UV-C radiation drastically reduces the bacterial load (3-log reduction), covering 100% of the material surface.
-
Overpressure module: The overpressure module ensures a clean airflow into the Grade D room, directing the dust-removal air toward the unclassified area, preventing any foreign matter from exiting the tunnel into the Grade D zone.
-
Synchronized automation: The entire cycle is controlled by a PLC to program operating cycles, times, and the opening of roll-up doors via photoelectric sensors, among other parameters.
-
Sectors and Regulatory Compliance
This equipment has been developed under the strictest engineering standards to comply with the most demanding international audits: GMP, FDA, BRC, and IPS.
-
Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industry
. -
Cosmetics and High-Safety Food Industries
. -
Veterinary Medicine and Biosafety Laboratories

Main Advantages
- Continuous flow: Eliminates the wait times of traditional SAS chambers thanks to its motorized conveyors.
. - Biological efficacy: Proven 3-log reduction in critical pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
. - Intelligent control: Simple operation via two Siemens HMI touchscreens located on both sides of the tunnel.
. - Total safety Overpressure in the classified area to prevent the entry of any foreign matter from the tunnel. UV-C lamps that only activate when the doors are completely closed, providing 100% operator protection.
-
Independent conveyors at the tunnel inlet and outlet, easily removable and coordinated in their operation.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the SAS Tunnel
How is the SAS TUNNEL integrated with the plant's BMS or SCADA system?
Yes, the PLC-based control system of the SAS TUNNEL comes natively prepared to integrate with your plant’s BMS or SCADA system.
What maintenance do the SAS TUNNEL filters and components require, and how is it facilitated?
Maintenance is simplified thanks to the technical access doors on both sides of the equipment, which facilitate the quick replacement of filters and UV lamps.
Furthermore, to guarantee maximum operational safety and prevent failures in the filtration system, the tunnel features integrated sensors that automatically issue an alert in the event of missing filters.
What are the exact dimensions and technical consumption of the SAS TUNNEL?
We provide a variety of modular configurations and custom fabrication options (such as AISI 316 finishes)
Dimensions and technical consumption vary according to project needs, as we offer different modular configurations and custom manufacturing options.
Each unit adapts to the specific requirements of the production line and the cleanroom, also allowing for advanced technical customizations such as AISI 316 stainless steel finishes according to industry standards.
What are the most frequent applications of the SAS TUNNEL, and what are its airflow requirements?
The most frequent applications of the SAS TUNNEL focus on environments where laminar airflow is not required and between 10 and 20 air changes per hour are sufficient.
It is an ideal unit for the safe transfer of materials in:
-
Preparation and transit areas, corridors, and changing rooms.
